Roberto Martinez will be hoping that his team can carry on against Spurs where they left off against Birmingham a fortnight ago.
With games running out quickly and the next three away from the DW Stadium, the Latics will be desperate to get something out of today`s encounter, a win and we could even pull out of the bottom three depending on results elsewhere.
Recently the Latics have been playing some great football, creating chances and fighting till the end, the arrival in the squad of new signing Conor Sammon has added a bit of spark and his 20 minute cameo last time out was a joy to watch.
With Real Madrid in the quarter-finals of the Champions League just three days away Spurs could be forgiven if they were slightly distracted this afternoon, injury scares look to have disrupted Redknapp`s preparation, but they have quality in depth and their starting line-up will be full of class no doubts.
Sitting in 5th place in the table and very much in the running for another Champions League qualification Tottenham will be coming for the three points, let`s hope that with our need being greater than theirs, we want it a little more and get the win to start the month off in great fashion.
Come On You Latics!!!
Latics boss Roberto Martinez:
'Regardless of their Champions League involvement next week this will be a very difficult game.
'As a player when you're on the pitch you focus on what is required in certain situations so I don't think Real Madrid will be on Harry Redknapp's team's minds once the game has kicked off.
'But from now until the end of the season it is all about us, our performances on the pitch and being to take every game as a unique opportunity to collect points.'
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp
'Wigan is a massive game for us.
'They had a good result in their last game when they beat Birmingham and I've great respect for their manager (Roberto Martinez), I think he's fantastic.
'But we've got to go there and try to make sure we get a win.'
Roberto Martinez has a fully fit squad to choose from:
Latics probable:
