Wigan Athletic travel to White Hart Lane this evening to face Tottenham Hotspur in an extremely important Premier League clash for both clubs, but for very different reasons. The Latics are desperate for points at the foot of the table, whilst Spurs are aiming to keep in touch with the pace setters at the top.
A poor showing at QPR last time out left the Latics stranded at the bottom, new signing Jean Beausejour, brought in from Birmingham will hopefully make an immediate impact and give Martinez`s side a renewed vigour
Spurs have been in good form this season, some of their displays have been top draw and the Latics will need to be at their best if they are to get anything at all from this game
Latics boss Roberto Martinez
'Spurs, as we know, are a phenomenal team, very dynamic and one of the Premier League's best right now, which means we'll have to be perfect in everything we do.
'Not many teams have gone to White Hart Lane, kept a clean-sheet and taken three points home with them, so just as we know the quality of who we're playing against we also understand that if we replicate out performance from last season then we have the ability to get another result.
'We're looking for perfection and for high standards from the players, and so far in training all the preparation has been very sharp from the players.'
'We're hoping to have all the paperwork sorted to be able to allow Jean (Beausejour) to make his debut'
Jermain Defoe and winger Aaron Lennon are doubts.
Top class player at the top of his game
Antolin Alcaraz is out with a groin injury and Momo Diame wont be back in time from ACN duty
New signing Jean Beausejour is in line to make his debut, Hugo Rodallega may have been sold!
Latics possible Al-Habsi, Boyce, Gohouri, Caldwell, Figueroa, Watson, McCarthy, Beausejour, Gomez, Moses, Di Santo
New signing making his debut, hopefully making his mark
