Latics v West Ham Preview

West Ham are in town today as the Latics strive to get their season back on track, a disppointing performance at Swansea last weekend needs to be erased from the memory with a good win today

West Ham have had a very good start to the season and have just one defeat on the road, with good strikers and a very good midfield they will be a tough nut to crack

We've had some exciting encounters in recent times with the Hammers, I'm not too bothered about the thrill value today, so long as the three points are added to our seasons total so far

What The Bosses Say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez

'We're really looking forward to playing at home, and the next game for us is vitally important, to be able to get all the good things together and to start getting the results we deserve.

'That's the challenge - reflecting points in the good work the players are doing on the pitch, and that's where we are. We're not going to look away from the responsibility to try to correct that as quickly as we can.'

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce:

'At Wigan we have to look to increase the points total with a positive result - whether that is a draw or a win. We are hoping for a win but if we come away with something then we will be delighted from our point of view.'
