Exciting times in the Capital One cup for the Latics, we have a real chance of progressing through to the quarter finals, with all due respect to Bradford City, a Premier League club playing at home to League 2 opposition should progress without too much difficulty.
Undoubtedly Martinez will continue with the formula he has used in each of the previous rounds, an experienced defence with smatterings of fringe players and youth filling the midfield and attack, when you consider one of those fringe players is £6 million striker Mauro Boselli who already has three competition goals to his name, then I really do feel positive about the tie
Cup competitions though don't always pan out like you'd expect so although confident of a Latics win, I am still wary of us getting mugged.
No doubt Bradford will be fired up and they are bringing a large following, this should be a cracking cup tie, can't wait
Roberto Martinez
'Every game is a big game now. Getting into the final eight is a fantastic prize for Bradford and for ourselves.
'We're going to get 5,000 supporters from Bradford and that's going to make it a big game.
'We're really looking forward to it. We've had two fantastic performances already in that cup and now we need to get the same standard at home.
'It's the first time we've had a cup game at home in the last two years and we need to make the most of it.'
Bradford boss Phil Parkinson
'It's hopefully going to be a great day out for the club.'
'We're bringing a great number of supporters, and it's a night we have to look to enjoy.
'We know we'll only be able to enjoy it, however, if we put in a performance and do ourselves justice. We'll have to be organised and disciplined.
'To get a result we know we'll have to play slightly above our level and Wigan will have to dip slightly below theirs. But cup shocks do happen though.
'Rest assured, we'll arrived at Wigan focused on what we have to do.
'There's no pressure on us going into the game.
'We've had a bit of (media) exposure in the last day or so, and it's something the lads should enjoy. They have worked hard to get to this stage of the competition.
'Obviously the training ground was a bit low this morning after Saturday's defeat (vs Burton Albion), but the lads have lifted the morale with a bright training session today (Monday) and we'll go to Wigan in good spirits.'
