Fulham vs. Wigan Athletic

Craven Cottage

Fulham v Latics

Latics travel to West London this afternoon hoping to get back to back away wins when they face Fulham at Craven Cottage, though this little ground by the Thames hasn't been the best of hunting grounds down the years for us

Last time away from home the Latics got a great result and put in a very good performance beating Aston Villa by three goals, more of the same today wouldn't go amiss.

Fulham have had an excellent home record down the years but this season it isn't has strong as it's previously been. With just six points separating the two clubs in the table Martinez's men need to capitalise on this today

With Ivan Ramis returning to the defence we look a lot stronger not just at the back but all over the team, his presence is so important, just a pity we've lost Arouna Kone to the African Cup of Nations

What The Bosses Say:

Latics boss Roberto Martinez:

'If you look at our previous record at Craven Cottage, I think it will be very difficult to see how.

'But I do feel the last three games we've played against Fulham we've been very unfortunate. It's hard to explain how we lost the previous two games at the DW Stadium.

'The last game we had at Craven Cottage it was a very late deadball situation, and after getting ourselves in front we couldn't get a positive result.

'The approach is very clear. We need to be playing well enough and work hard enough to make sure we become a lucky team on Saturday.'

Fulham boss Martin Jol:

'I feel that the home games, with our home record over the years, should be a lot better and that is why we need wins. We started [winning again] against West Brom. We repaired some damage with the three points away from home and, hopefully, we can do the same again against Wigan because they're one of the bottom clubs at the moment.

'We've got home games against Reading and Queens Park Rangers, for example, and if we can manage to have wins against these teams then we will be fine.'
