'If It's Football, It's Vital'

West Ham United vs. Wigan Athletic

Upton Park

Hammer time

Latics travel to London to face West Ham on the back of two home wins that carried the Blues to the summit of the Premiership, albeit for just 22 hours

West Ham somehow are still a Premiership club and ideally the Latics would be travelling to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United for this fixture, maybe justice will still be done

The happy Hammers haven`t had the best start to the season losing at home to Sven`s City miss matches and by all accounts were lucky to concede just two goals

Last Saturday they faired a little better after Belamy`s blatant dive coned the referee to awarding a penalty that their only decent player, Mark Noble, put away to give them a 1-0 victory at newly promoted Birmingham City

The cocky Cockney`s believe that they have this one in the bag, well they are in for a shock if they think we are the same team from last year

Vital Quotes:

Alan Curbishley

'It's a big game for both of us because if we get a result we can push ourselves up and if we don't we're looking behind us again.'

Chris Hutchings

'They will be the test for us. They will be a test of character and of how we perform.

'It will be very difficult for us but hopefully we can come back with something from those games.

'I'm delighted with the start we've had, but we've just got two wins on the board and we have to build on that.'

Maybe a little bit of bias when writing this? Seriously mate, no malice in my previous comments, I wish you the best of luck tomorrow and I'm sure you'll want to prove me wrong in what I predict!

It's ok O.E.L just a bit of harmless banter, the only game I predicted we'd lose last year we won! That was the Sheff Utd game. Just trying to stir a bit of interest up and get some comments and discussion going
