Latics keep winning

Our roving reporter this week is Latic Speyk regulat nicol467

Great game at Elland Road 2 teams giving 100% but in the end the premiership quality shone through especially from the outstanding Jason Koumas.

Wigan took the lead near half time although both teams had the chance to take the lead in an open first half.

Wigan Started the game with some excellent passing, Leeds did not touch the ball for the first four minutes (this is not an understatement).

Leeds had the first chance to talk the lead and they would have it wasn`t the extremely impressive Kirkland who saved well from Jermaine Beckford Powerful Header.

Next came Koumas running through the Leeds defence before hitting the crossbar with a looping strike.

Wigan finally took the lead through a well worked goal between the front two in which the ball came to Koumas and he did his business very well before slotting th ball past lee Roach the Leeds goalkeeper.

A few changes in the second half and Folan should have extended the lead to put the ball past the post when he was one on one with the keeper.

Leeds then had a very impressive spell in the game in which some great work down the right then a nice ball in the box for Jermaine Beckford to slot home from 10 yards.

Wigan then took control of the match most attacking play coming through the left wing with Koumas and Kilbane.

Eventually after some great pressure Folan was fouled on the edge of the box and Koumas steppe up confidently only for the shot to take a deflection past Lee Roach.

Leeds were the team pushing towards the end of the game but Wigan comfortably held on for the win.

All in all great game some impressive performances by both teams but there was only one man who stood out the unbelievable Jason Koumas.
