David Cotterill joined the Latics from Bristol City in a 2million deal on transfer deadline day August 2006.

The 18-year-old, who scored eight times in 62 League One outings for City, signed a three-year contract at the JJB Stadium.

His first season with the club was a moderate success as he scored three goals in 24 games.

Cotterills commitment was questioned by previous bosses Jewell and Hutchings along with Wales boss Toshack

Lets hope that new Latics boss Steve Bruce can get the best out of the undoubtedly talented Welsh youngster
