The speedy winger is comfortable on either flank and moved to Wigan from Everton in August 2006.

He had previously made his name at West Bromwich Albion and Sunderland before establishing himself as a top flight player at Goodison Park.

He is an established member of the Republic of Ireland national team and displayed his talents to a global audience during their World Cup campaign in 2002.

Inconsistent for the Latics though he did have a superb game st Sheff Utd when it mattered, sold to Hull City January 2009 500K
