Giant centre-half signed on a season-long loan from hometown club Helsingborgs IF in January 2007.

The Sweden international had captained the Allsvenskan side, and is rated as one of the best defenders in the country, a standing reflected when coach Lars Lagerback gave him his international debut in January 2006 in the goalless draw with Jordan.

Made his league debut for the Latics against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge

Completed a 2 year deal in June 2007 when Latics paid his Swedish club 750,000 to secure his servies permanently

Sold to Dutch club Gronnigen after 1 year at the JJB
