Journeyman goalkeeper who began his career as an apprentice with Manchester United in 1988 but who never played for the first team.

After leaving Old Trafford in 1991, Pollitt played for a string of Football League clubs before moving to Rotherham United in 2001.

Made the switch to the JJB Stadium on a two-year contract in June 2005 after notching up 175 league appearances for the Millers.

Pollitt was Man of the Match in the Carling Cup semi-final at Highbury in 2006, he produced a string of outstanding saves and saved a Reyes penalty ensuring Latics place in the final

A reliable and experienced stopper signed a one year extension this summer
