First team to score will win it

Latics have only come back from going a goal behind to win three times since becoming a Premier League side.

This season we have conceeded first six times achieving a draw once and losing the five times, the draw coming against Sunderland.

Portsmouth haven't fared much better, conceeding first on five occasions but coming back to win once.

All points towards the first scoring side today securing the points.

actually, I can add another statistic to that pile... Pompey havn't dropped ANY points after going ahead since drawing with derby (away) on the first day of the season LAST season - and havnt dropped any points after scorring first since scorring first in the (embarising) 4-2 sefeat to watford the season before!
