What a let down

Here's some statistics for you.

Played 16, won 3, lost 8, drawn 5, points 14, F/8, A/20.

Played 12, won 2, lost 9, drawn 2, points 8, F/10 A/19

Both make depressing reading, the difference is the latter set of figures cost Chris Hutchings his job whilst the former is Steve Bruce's record since January.

Two very different managers Two very different outcomes. The one constant is the players.

Quite frankly their performances since January and espically since the end of March have been embarassing.

Highly paid professionals haven't performed up to the level expected of them. If we performed the same at work we would be sacked.

Bruce is lucky that, his poor run of form has been at the end of the season not the beginning.

The question is how to motivate people on 40k plus a week?

For some players on Saturday I reckon this equated to about a grand a kick.

Steve Bruce has a hell of a job with United in town on Wednesday and the majority of the squad apparently already on holiday in their minds.

What is for sure is that if the form continues into next season then we will be looking down the relegation barrell.

Lets hope they get the kick up the backside that they need

Hopefully we can make some good changes this summer and get a deeper squad. Part of the lacklustre performances might come from the fact that their aren't many alternatives to the first teamers we have, so dropping a player becomes difficult, as there is really nobody who can fit in.

It's not really the second half, we started off pretty badly also, getting screwed on some ref calls and the like. It's really the middle third that was good!
