Vote for the Vital Wigan Awards No 1
The first cateogory is the Player of the Season awards.

In what has so far been a difficult season there have still been stand out performances from several players.

Here are a few suggestions in no particular order.

1/ Chris Kirkland...Chris has had an injury interrupted season but when he has been in the team his form has been excellent. Some of his shot stopping , the last minute save agaisnt Stoke a case in point have saved Wigan many a point and Chris must be a contender.

2/ James McCarthy... a close season signing the young Republic of Ireland international took his time finding his feet in the Premier League but since the turn of the year his form has been nothing short of exceptional and he has emeged as a real potent attacking force.

3/ Hugo Rodallega...currently experiencing a goal drought but still Wigan's top scorer and looks the most likely to end Wigan's losing run. Wigan's survival will be closely linked to Hugo's form.

4/ Mohammed Diame...the young Frenchman has fitted in well in the centre of midfield and has put his previous health scares behind him. Many knowledgable pundits are likening him to an embryonic Patrick Vieira.

5/Charles N'Zogbia... the mercurial Frenchman's performances this season have been creative and he has been the source of many of Wigan's best moves. Surely a contender for player of the season.

This list is by no means exhaustive. We invite you to discuss your particlular favourite on the forum and then vote when the end of the season draws near.

I to would go with N'Zogbia but only because McCarthy has only featured since Christmas
